Output Mediums

An output device/medium is any machine that is capable of representing information from a computer. There are many output devices in a computer such as speakers, headphones, monitors/duel monitors and printers. Output devices will also include a projector, plotter, braille embosser, television, microphone, and a camera.

Laser Printer

A laser printer is a popular type of personal computer printer that uses a non-impact (keys don't strike the paper), photocopier technology. When a document is sent to the printer, a laser beam "draws" the document on a selenium-coated drum using electrical charges. After the drum is charged, it is rolled in toner, a dry powder type of ink. The toner adheres to the charged image on the drum. The toner is transferred onto a piece of paper and fused to the paper with heat and pressure. After the document is printed, the electrical charge is removed from the drum and the excess toner is collected. Most laser printers print only in monochrome. A color laser printer is up to 10 times more expensive than a monochrome laser printer.

Inkjet

Inkjet printing is a type of computer printing that creates a digital image by propelling droplets of ink onto paper, plastic, or other substrates. Inkjet printers are the most commonly used type of printer, and range from small inexpensive consumer models to very large professional machines that can cost tens of thousands of dollars, or more.

Ink-jet printers require smaller mechanical parts than laser printers, they are especially popular as portable printers. In addition, color ink-jet printers provide an inexpensive way to print full-color documents.

Vinyl Printer

Vinyl Printers are a form of outdoor advertising. Most Vinyl Printers are now digitally printed on large format inkjet printers which are capable of printing a full color outdoor billboard on a single piece of material.

Vinyl banners have many uses and applications. They are most often used to promote a company's logo, a special promotion, event, team or school. Since vinyl is a very flexible as well as portable material you can see vinyl banners just about anywhere. Vinyl banners are commonly seen as billboards, table banners, trade show banners, building banners, street banners as well as stadium flags.

Plotter

The plotter is a computer printer for printing vector graphics. In the past, plotters were used in applications such as computer-aided design, though they have generally been replaced with wide-format conventional printers. A Plotter gives a hard copy of the output. It draws pictures on paper using a pen. Plotters are used for example to print designs of ships and machines, plans for buildings and so on.

Monitor / Dual Monitor

A monitor or a display is an electronic visual display for computers. The monitor comprises the display device, circuitry and an enclosure.

A computer system with more than one display connected. Dual monitor systems consist of adding additional video adapters (also called video cards) to it, or by using a single video card that has multiple ports for monitors (called a dual head card). The second display screen can be any display, such as a television, projector, or monitor.

Speakers

A Speaker is a hardware device connected to a computer's sound card that outputs sounds generated by the computer. Speakers are one of the most common output devices used with computer systems. Some speakers are designed to work specifically with computers, while others can be hooked up to any type of sound system. Regardless of their design, the purpose of speakers is to produce audio output that can be heard by the listener.
